In the Dutch Kingdom there is an obvious bridgefunction realized by the house of Orange. You cannot ignore this admirable culture... with a democratic base. Being for or against, doesn´t make a difference for this ´divine´ house...

Nouel was invited to design special golden and silver coins about Aruba's Status Aparte (20 years) and about the Flag and Anthem (30 years) of Aruba. Here the digital design for the golden coin, inspired by his own paintings and provided to the Royal Mint Utrecht for production in Gold and Silver!
Queen Beatrix minted a historic coin for the occasion of 20 years Status Aparte of Aruba and 30 years Flag and Anthem, the 7th of november 2006. Gustave Nouel was inspired by his own painting titled 'Beatrix in paradise'... for this design. This was the first official coin ever minted in Aruba and the first coin in papiamento as well...
This is a detail of our queen of a life size painting I am making right on commission.(it is not finished yet, painting in process... at this stage it was good enough for the coins, however) This painting has already been bought and paid by the Aruban Government.

If the Queen is a person appointed in her task by higher powers, her responsibillity is huge and a destiny for sure... A psycoligical sketch or an attempt to reflect this mythical essence...
Dutch Prince and Latin Princess project the myth of the globalisation and international acculturation process in a fairy talelike way... (in Dutch I name this painting ´cliché Oranjepaar1´)
´Cliche Oranjepaar 2´ is the Dutch name for this inpiration on the Dutch house of Orange that I am painting for many years... just an excercise, but a good one, I believe. I am satisfied , at least!
World Expo Seville 1992 in Spain presents 'Aruban Prank and Pride' from Gustave Nouel in the Dutch paviljon. Mixed media, a Caribbeanlike cocktail of materials on an acrylic base representing the chaotic, but friendly relation between the concerning parts of the Dutch Kingdom... with the 'Status Aparte' concept.
