On extocuracao we want to provide artists with a place to show their work. Another artsite you might think, and yes, that is true. However, we think that with the help of exto.nl and our local knowledge and skills we can create a different kind of site than is usual.
Often an artist can get (or buy!) one page only where he or she can show a few works and some text. We don't think that is good enough. We think we created something better (see also interested?).
Exto is a project of Asmen. It started as "a nice hobby without obligations" and went on to be a foundation. However the continous growth demanded a more intense level of support and professionalism. Therefore it is now operated by our small company. However the goal has not changed at all: to provide a service where artists can build and maintain their own site.
As to the title: Exto is a latin word that means (see also ex-sto) the following:
- Rise above something, stand out
- Show clearly, get noticed, appear
- Still on supply, still exist
New additions to the site are not visible in the artists-listing to start with. There is a small committee that decides on this. We have taken this step to assure a good level of quality.
