Making your own website is not difficult at all. Probably you will spend more time thinking about the contents, the texts to use and the photographs than on putting it in to this website. On the next pages you can step-by-step enter everything that is needed and choose to create your own website. However it might be nice if you know up-front what it is that you need to know and have. Maybe you want to think about all of this and come back to enter all in one go. Site name. In the example artist.extocuracao.com the word artist is the site name. Pick this one with care as it cannot be changed, must be easy to remember and have something to do with you. Personal Information. We want to know a few things about you, e.g. your real name (site name may be an alias), contact information etc. Be aware that we will conform to our privacy statement where we (amongst other things) tell you that we will never give the information to others and also not send you commerical mail. However we ask you to put real info here. This is enough to start! Of course you want to tell and show something on the website, that starts now: Info pages. Visitors to your site usually want to know a little bit about the artist. Maybe you already have a text that you use at exhibitions, that is usually a good one to start with. You can make multiple information pages each telling a different story. HOWEVER do not make information pages for each individual artwork, that comes in groups and artworks. Groups. If you have quite a few works of art then visitors may lose the overview. Therefore you must order them into groups. You first make a group and then create the works inside the groups Works of art. if you want you can show a fair amount of works. Maintain sensible groupings and put enough explanatory text with each of them. |
